Came in with no problems, "bye bye mum" 😂.

It's great when they love wanting to come and play here at Little Lorikeets.

It is a good entry point into our Kindergarten/daycare, by taking advantage of the Munchkin class.

Nothing like a gingerbread house to make and eat.

Little Lory is getting ready for winter holiday's.

Leading up to it we have been learning about Christmas from a "historical" point if view as well as a magical one🎅

We also cover 正月 in English and go over some of the お節 menu items in English as well. It's great for the students to be able to explain japanese culture in English to their foreign friends in the future.

Though we are doing #異年齢保育 In #池田市 we of course develop the project according to the age group.

This year we are creating Christmas wreaths.

Maybe they will hang them up on their homes doors to welcome Santa Claus 😄🎅

Exercise is good for the body and it's important for 園児 .

Stretch, jump, run and hop and all in English at Little Lorikeets.

Learning to collaborate 協同的 as a group 集団的 the children learn the importance of team work.

Outdoors 戸外 experiencing the environment and nature is important for development.

Just like a regular kindergarten 幼稚園 but I'm English.

Let's do some colouring sheets this afternoon.

Because we had P.E this morning we didn't go to the park in the afternoon.

Today we are colouring in Santa.

Santa is coming to town.

Today was the last P.E of 2024.

We had fun warming up and doing exercise as a group.

Today we played a tag game where the children had to run to a food (drawn on the ground with water) when prompted to, and avoid the teacher in the middle who was "in".

They really enjoyed that game and wanted to play a few rounds.

Then we headed back to Little Lorikeets for lunch.

We want children to develop their own interest in reading books and study.

Lifetime learning is what is all about.

So at Little Lorikeets we just lightly guiding the children into reading.

We want them to enjoy it and not find it a chore. There will be time for that in Junior and senior highschool right?

With the graded reading system we use and the phonics and weekly vocabulary (based on subjects, i.e. Jobs) when the students graduate they should* know by sight around 800 words. (* It depends on the child as well)

By that time, with the graded reading system continuing on into the EPT class (#卒園児) they start reading longer, more interesting stories, at the higher levels and really start getting interested in reading.

From what we see over the years from observations of other students not in Little Lorikeets (children of friends etc) those who did not start early and get into reading English, really have a difficult uncomfortable time in Junior High.

Also tests like #英検2級 have a higher hurdle to pass if reading ability is weak.

It's best to start young and let it be enjoyable 😀

One member is returning to their home country this month 🥲 but in the time with us has started speaking some English, and has started understanding what is being said #聴き取り .
