何と！！気がつけばCAN創立から1年が過ぎました。今ではたくさんの方にCANを知ってもらい、そしてたくさんの方に通っていただいています。すでに私のことを知り尽くして(笑）いる生徒さんもいるかと思いますが、ここで私自身のこと・スクールを立ち上げることにいたった経緯などをお話したいと思い文章にしました。
まずは、私自身のこと・・・☆
私キャメロンはニュージーランドで生まれ育ち、ビジネスのことやコンピューターのことを勉強しました。その後21歳の時に、一足先に行っていた両親のいるオーストラリアへ移住。
ずっと続けて勉強してきた針鍼灸のコースを卒業して、母親と一緒に針鍼灸クリニックを立ち上げ２００５年日本に来るまでは施術・経営していました。
さて、ここからはCANを設立するまでの道のりのこと・・・☆
来日して初めての仕事は、お友達の経営する針鍼灸医院で働かせていただきました。日本での針鍼灸の世界。いい経験をさせてもらったのですが、経済的な面で転職・・・となりました。
ここからが「英語を教える」ということへのスタートとなりました。
★インターナショナルプリスクール★公立小学校★私立幼稚園★保育園★
いろいろなところで、たくさんのかわいい子ども達に英語を教えてきました。
幼稚園や学校などで教えてきたことはとてもいい経験になったし、とても楽しかったです。
しかし今までの経験を通じて思った事は・・・日本にとって英語は「外国語＝EFL」。私のレッスンクラスで読み書き・スピーキングを頑張っていても、レッスンを終え一歩外に出ると全てが日本語に戻ります。（これは言語だけではなく、周りに見える全てのものが含まれます＝看板や標識・メニューなど）
それでも小学校にあがるまでの3年間、１週間に1時間だけでも続けてきたお友達は違います！！
私のクラスにいた子どもの話し。外国人に臆することなく話しかけにいった。英語を楽しみながら参加し、たくさんのことを学んだ。ということをよく耳にします。嬉しい限りです。
ですが！！このサイクルを何度か経験し、英語はEFLであっても子どもたちの英語はもっと早く・もっと上達できるのに・・・と、とても強く感じ、去っていく子ども達を横目にとても残念に思っていました。
そんな気持ちから２０１３年「英語が喋れる」子どもを増やすべく！！自身のスクールを妻と立ち上げました。日本にいながらたくさんの英語に触れるには？！「プリスクール」です。念願の夢であるプリスクールを立ち上げました。もちろんプリスクールにくることはできないけれど、英語を学びたい・英語が喋れるようになりたいと思う子どもたちのためのクラスもあります。
２０１３年のこの立ち上げに至るまでには、たくさんの方のサポートがあったからこその成功です。立ち上げ3年ほど前から「スクールをもつ！！」という夢を見てお金をため、夢をつかむために頑張ってきました。
「Hills English」と名付け、仕事の合間・空いている時間を見つけて、グループレッスンや「１COIN留学」を始めたりと、少しづつ少しづつ積み上げてきました。
私のレッスンスタイルを好んでくれて付いてきてくれたみなさまがいたお陰で、本当にスムーズな立ち上げをすることができました。子ども達との・親御さまとの良い関係があったからこそ今の成功にいたることができました。本当に感謝です。
そして、スクールスタートに向けて行なっていた「Story＆Fun Time」のイベントに来てスクールのことを知ってもらい、メンバーとなっていただいたみなさんとのご縁。とても感謝です！！
本当に本当に！！みなさまのサポートのお陰で今日のスクールがあります！！
みんなと出会えた縁に感謝しながら、これからもみんなで「英語を喋るのは難しくない！！」を証明してみせましょう！！

Wow its been over a year already and CAN International is going great, just recently I realized that I've been riding on the fact that a lot of people, students know who I am already so I thought it was about time I write something on this website about who I am and why I created my school.
I was born In New Zealand and I studied business and acupuncture, when I was 21 I moved to Australia where my family had moved to already and continued to study Acupuncture completing my course and setting up a clinic with my mother, I practiced acupuncture until I left for Japan in 2005.
When I first got to Japan my first job was working in an Acupuncture clinic which was a great experience, but I decided that I needed a bit more money so I decided to start teaching English.
From that time I've taught at an International Preschool, I've taught at Primary schools and I have also taught at private kindergartens and daycare centers.
Teaching English at these Institutes was great but unfortunately Japan is what we call EFL ( English as a Foreign language) so even though In my classes the kids would be speaking reading and writing English as soon as they left my class they would switch back to Japanese this was fine because I would hear stories of my kids going up to foreigners and try speaking to them, but at one hour a week for only around three years before the students left the kindergarten and went on to primary school there was only so much advancement they could make in English.
So being disheartened by this situation and wanting to see some great results I decided in 2013 to quit my kindergarten work and set up my school with my wife , there I could have a Preschool where children could come and spend the day and be in an intensive English environment, practice speaking and reading and writing and really internalize English and make it their own, but also I still wanted an Academy so children who couldn't come to the preschool but who want to learn English and practice listening,speaking, reading,writing after their school or kindergarten time in an only English environment could come.
This was my goal when I set my school up in 2013, and its been a great success but only because of the great support we have had from friends and family, the dream of a preschool had been in our minds for three years before hand so we slowly worked saving money and getting ready to establish the school. We started with One Coin and a few group lessons when I had spear time we called our make shift school Hills English, and for those three years we built up our students who loved what I did and followed us to my new school, because of the hard work three years ago and the great support we had to start with it made building my school so much faster.
If we hadn't taken that time three years ago to build up a great base of support and clearly plan out what we wanted our school to be, I think the school might have not been as successful and it would have been harder but luckily for us in the April of 2013 thanks to Story and Fun time we started getting lots of new faces joining up In our morning classes, Enjoying our schools atmosphere and my teaching style.
Because of this great support, we are able to focus a lot on the school and make it better and better
so again thanks for all the support every one, and lets keep on Improving.
